the day after you leave
you're still here a ghost in the room
your empty coffee mug beside your chair
just waiting for a refill. your slippers
tucked underneath the sofa
hopefully far enough for the dog not to get them
and you're in your spot on the couch
when i face away - tv in the background
.....but not.......
